Meet the Team
Danielle Pascoli
Founder & CEO
Danielle Pascoli holds a BS in Biochemical Engineering from University of São Paulo, and MS and PhD in Bioresource Science and Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle. Danielle's research experience has been dedicated to developing more efficient processes for converting lignocellulosic biomass into a variety of bioproducts. During her doctoral studies, Danielle developed a cost-effective conversion technology for producing cellulose nanofibers from various waste resources (including food crop residues, invasive grasses, and other lignocellulosic wastes). This technology later became the foundation of VERDE.
Danielle's mission is to make a positive impact on the world by using science to address major global challenges. She is passionate about adding value where it is often overlooked, hence her career has been focused on using underutilized resources to create valuable bioproducts.

Juri Fukuda
Research Scientist
Juri Fukuda holds a BS in Biochemistry from San Francisco State University and has many years of experience working as a research chemist in biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the Bay Area. Later, she returned to SF State to obtain a MS in Organic Chemistry, focusing on analog synthesis of insulin growth factor inhibitors for targeted cancer therapy. Her academic journey continued with a PhD in Fiber and Polymer Science from University of California, Davis, where she discovered her passion for biomass utilization to create functional materials.
During her doctoral studies, Juri developed expertise in nanocellulose, including extraction, functionalization, and application in functional materials and nanocomposite polymers. Today, as part of the VERDE Nanomaterials team, she is very excited about using her experience to follow her passion for science and sustainability.
